Small Animal Veterinary Specialists and Small Animal Veterinary Care are businesses owned and run by Dr. Christina Marino. She provides internal medicine consultations, ultrasound, echocardiogram, and minimally invasive sampling to general and emergency practices in her area.
Dr. Christina Marino
– She is a Colorado native who received her veterinary medical degree from The Ohio State University.
– She completed a postdoctoral rotating medicine and surgery internship at North Carolina State University.
– She completed a postdoctoral residency at the University of Pennsylvania and became a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM-SAIM).
– She is certified in hemodialysis for kidney failure in companion animals through the University of California, Davis under the instruction of Dr. Larry Cowgill.
– She has worked in several large, specialty hospitals practicing internal medicine.
– She has also worked in general practices providing wellness care, and emergency practices practicing emergency medicine and surgery. This gives her a well rounded wealth of knowledge to be able to create the best treatment plan for the patient and pet parent.
– She has a decade of experience with abdominal ultrasound and echocardiogram technique.
- Her medical interests include all things feline medicine, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disease, and surgery.
- She loves to teach, and has presented at several local continuing education events and state veterinary medical conferences.
- She enjoys putting together sessions for journal clubs and morbidity and mortality rounds within hospitals to keep up with the newest evidence based medicine.
– She loves spending time with her husband (also a veterinarian).
– Together they have 3 cats, a shelter cat (Isis), a Philly street cat (Rex), and a Devon Rex (Snips).
– She also enjoys cooking, traveling to island destinations, eating Hawaiian chocolate, real estate investing, playing World of Warcraft, and board games with family and friends.
